Cancale

On the way there, you will follow the Coast,  discovering the islets – many of which were fortified under the supervision of Vauban during the reign of Louis XIV, then the main beach of the Sillon (over 2 km long) known for its breakwaters, the Pointe de la Varde, marking the external limit of the fortifications of Saint-Malo with its fort set up during the second world war by the German army on the fortifications built by VAUBAN, then the Pointe du Grouin, the departure point for the famous single-handed transatlantic race, “Route du Rhum”.

You will pass through the narrow gully between the coast and the Ile des Landes – an ornithological reserve for seabirds – and distinguish the famed silhouette of Mont Saint-Michel.

You will arrive in Cancale at the Port de la Houle, known for its oyster farms and its sailors hired for cod fishing in the shoals of Newfoundland (Canada).

You can lunch independently, taste the oysters, visit Cancale, then return to Saint-Malo by coach. Otherwise, you can return to Saint-Malo immediately by boat.

Sometimes dolphins may be seen, even coming to accompany the boat.
